Virginia Two-Generation/Whole Family Pilot Project
Success of the Virginia Pilot Project
The four year pilot has demonstrated the transformational nature of the whole family approach
- The Virginia Department of Social Services and community action have demonstrated they can bring lasting improvements to the lives of Virginia’s families and children through the implementation of the Whole Family Model through community action.
- This innovative approach transcends the existing silos in social services delivery, ushering in a comprehensive, integrated solution that harmoniously caters to the needs of both children and adults within a family unit.
- The adoption of this model is important if we are to reduce reliance on public assistance and alleviate generational poverty for low-income families through workforce participation.
- The lessons learned from the successful pilot are ready to be implemented across the state to lift families out of poverty.
- See infographic, program evaluation and General Assembly report below for in depth evidence of the efforts impacts.
